We hit somewhat of a rough patch all the sudden this past week. It was almost like a switch had been flipped on Wednesday morning - she was not sleeping and was terribly gassy. My biggest fear was a dairy intolerance. Luckily after a few rough nights and lots of gas drops, she seems to be better. Night time sleeping was the worst - she didn't want to be in the swing because of how bad her tummy hurt and she actually slept in the co-sleeper some. No weight check this week as we have a Board meeting tomorrow during support group. She is definitely growing out of her newborn clothes and we are finally using the last of the newborn diapers.

Lego trains

Brendan is still super into trains (for anyone who doesn't see him on a regular basis! ;) ) For Christmas, he got some duplo lego trains with track from Bisia & Grampy - they have been a huge, huge hit! This was what he built today.

First Bottle

After much debate and polling of other breastfeeding moms - we introduced a bottle today. Once Brendan got a bottle, we quickly stopped nursing mostly because he was such a lazy eater. :) Katelyn had a terrible time taking to one at all, hence my reluctance to try one, but with our upcoming trip to Florida, we needed her to take one so we could keep driving!

On the second attempt today, Adelyn took it without any issue. (I think with the first attempt she got too hungry and mad to have any patience for something new and Mommy wasn't one to sit and listen to her cry either. ;)

Getting the Animals

Adelyn loves her vibrating bouncy seat - just like Brendan & Katelyn did! She's already working on getting those little animals. :)

4 weeks

Adelyn's weight was 8 pounds 3 ounces and she ate 85 mL at group, almost 3 ounces!

Sleeping: She is sometimes doing a 5 hours stretch at night - and she loves to have her hands by her face.  We swaddle her with her arms out.  Most of her sleep occurs in her swing at night. 

She is eating about every 90 min for about 10-15 minutes at a time. 

She is starting to talk/coo.  The kids comment that she has "big talks" and "little talks".  :)   We have gotten a few smiles too! 

I took my first long walk yesterday and made it 30 minutes, but was definitely sore afterwards!   We've been using the Moby wrap.  Adelyn really seems to enjoy it and will pretty much go right to sleep.  :)   Big Brother Brendan is super sweet with her.    Katelyn still very close and gives "tough love" as Mamaw calls it.  :)

Adelyn is still wearing newborn clothes, but I'm noticing that she fills them out now.  We are still using newborn diapers, but only for another day or two probably.  We are on our last package of them and I don't think that I will have to buy more.

First Bath

Adelyn's cord finally fell off a few days ago and we finally found a few minutes to give her a bath! :) She wasn't a huge fan, but Brendan & Katelyn enjoyed watching the process and helping a little too.
